The Asia Foundation in Sri Lanka works alongside government, civil society, grassroots organizations, and communities to strengthen governance and justice systems, expand economic inclusion, and advance women’s rights and people’s wellbeing. Building on decades of experience and trusted relationships, we are also strategically expanding into critical new areas, such as climate resilience, inclusive digital transformation, and future‑economy skills to support inclusive, sustainable development that responds to local realities.
Small and medium business owners
Through The Asia Foundation programs in Sri Lanka, micro, small, and medium business owners have gained practical digital skills, improved their business practices, and participated in Sri Lanka’s digital economy.
Women entrepreneurs
Women entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka have expanded their economic agency through improved access to finance, targeted skills development, mentorship, and stronger business networks—positioning them to grow their enterprises and increase income stability.
Annual dispute responses
Community mediation systems strengthened nationwide now help respond to more than 200,000 disputes annually, reducing court backlogs, lowering costs for citizens, and supporting community-based conflict resolution.
